 OK, but not great Jul 18, 2010
Well I just tried this game. I don't buy new. I wait till I can get them for $5.00 or less. I understood this was a good one, but it's only mediocre.
The good points are the number of tracks and cars as well as the garage tuning and the fact that the AI cars aren't all 100% aces that you can never beat. The bad is the poor graphics and the unrealistic racing control. I have hardly ever found a game where the cars respond the same as in reality. I imagine it's too hard to come up with that, since no one has yet, in all these years. It's just aggravating to have to control a car by using unrealistic means. Coming into and out of curves is just not realistic in this game.

Another just OK game in the long list of just OK games. I wish someone from the US would make a US based game. It's not like we don't have road course racing here and it would be really nice to use an American car on an American track just once, instead of always having to have someone from some Foreign country make a Foreign game, to sell primarily in the USA...

Got this game really cheap of Amazon for under $10. Although I found that it doesn't run well on Vista or eMachines laptops (shocker!) I will soon upgrade the graghics card on my XP desktop. Once I got the Online version (Steam) to run on my laptop it was awesome, even on low graphics and minimal effects. I can't wait to upgrade other computer and get to play it without lag. I would definitely recommend playing the game with a gamepad or racing wheel, it supports the arrow keys/WASD setup but that's not very fun. I love Simbin products and will buy more of their products in the future. Would recommend to a friend.

Never did get to play it.. Keep getting mini dump errors.. When I ask for help they don't respond..

I don't know what to write because I never got to play it and I did not have the patience to return it. Well what can I say, I got it for 7 bucks and this only proves that cheap stuff is .....cheap :)

Years ago I played TOCA, touring car championsip, complete with a Microsoft Sidewinder force-feedback wheel.
That was one excellent game. This isn't.
It's bland, it's dull, there's no sensation of speed, car handling or anything to maintain your attention. It's like watching someone else play, but harder work.
In fairness I'm somewhat addicted to Richard Burns Rally, which is worlds apart from this. With that you feel immersed in a 3D world, at high speed. With this... not so much.
It has some good points, good sound, wide choice of cars - but why bother, when it's boring?
3 stars, for effort. They missed the most important bit though, making it feel like you're driving a car...
